Q: Can you start out by telling us how Solar Fields first became a serious project.   I guess I was serious since the very beginning when I started with electronic music in the 80's, it just took some time for me to form the Solar Fields project, but I had a steady goal from the very beginning that this is something that I want to do.
From the start I’ve been evolving both musically and technically and now it is 2013.
Q:  What would you say was your original vision for your music and how has it evolved over the years?   I do not really have a vision of my music, I just take it as it comes.
It’s when I don't think and I just let the creativity flow that things happen for me.
I guess my technical knowledge has expanded during the years and that opened up new doors also to achieve what I want.

Q:  How did the Origin project get started?
It all started a couple of years ago when I was going through my old computers and hard drives and found a lot of music that never got finished or released.
So I started to go through some of the tracks and got seriously inspired so that was the birth of the Origin series.
Of course I could have named each album differently and called them unique names but this is not how I work; when I do a traditional album I'm doing it from scratch and not taking any older ideas and build on that. Therefore the Origin series is here.
Q: What guides the selection of the tracks for each of the collections for Origin?

I guess it’s very random, I open up a project and if I feel anything at the moment for it I start to work on it and finish it.
On Origin #02 there are tracks that I tried to work on for Origin #01 but didn't get the feel for them back then.

Q:  Regarding Origin # 02 how did you lay out the album ?

I have no plan for the Origin series, I just take it as it comes.
For the track order I went for a sort of dreamy experience, with variations from Up's 'n' Downs, dark, light, happiness, sadness.

Q:  Are there any stories behind the tracks that your listeners might enjoy hearing?   Not any stories that I can remember now since most of the original tracks and ideas are done many years ago but I have one for Falling Shadow (Origin 2005) that is explained in the booklet.

In 2003 I was extremely ill and almost passed away.
As I was lying in my hospital bed I started to see black shadows walking in the room.
My instant thought was « that this is it, my time has come ».
This track is in memory of that experience, and the feelings I went through while the shadows just passed by.

Thank you life.

Q:  Can you tell us something about the non-musical aspects of this release ?   Vince and I both made the choices for the artwork, I made the final tweaking to get it in the mood regarding colours and such things.
Technically it was quite easy to start to work on the tracks since I record everything in audio so when I open up an old project everything sounds the same as it did back at the origin of the track.
Since I work like this I am not depending on what kind of equipment I was using back then. Everything is there.
Q:  What would you say has been most rewarding for yourself in putting together the Origin series?
It has been really fun and interesting to see and hear how these older tracks come together in a 2012 perspective but still keeping the original feeling and thoughts. None of the tracks were finished before so it has been quite a big project to get it all together.

Q:  What can we expect from the yet-to-be-delivered Origin albums?   I really do not know myself now, so we see ; but I guess it will be with a lot of variations as the first 2 albums.
I haven't started to think/work on the third chapter yet so it’s too early to tell :)
Q:  Where is Solar Fields headed in the future - what would you like the project to explore?   I never know where I'm going with the music, I take it as it comes so therefore it’s hard to tell, it’s always been like that and always will when it comes to Solar Fields music.
At the moment I am working on a lot of different things, some collaboration work are in the progress and of course new Solar Fields music and some non Solar Fields projects that is starting to see the light.
Later on this year there will be a couple of EP releases with some very nice remixes from other artists and also some theme presented EP's/Mini albums with brand new music, also got some surprises later on this year but we wait with that a little :)
